Goldie’s Place is committed to realizing our vision of renewing the spirit.
Otis is a 58-year-old African-American male who loves to smile but has had to settle for a grin. Otis was out of work for three years caring for a family member and was homeless for nearly eight years after the family home was foreclosed on.
Otis met with an Employment & Training Coach who assisted him in developing an employment plan. His motivation and desire to succeed paid off when he was hired full time by a Goldie’s Place partner employer. Later that same month, he secured housing in a supportive housing program. Otis is now receiving aesthetic dental services while awaiting his permanent partial, as a final step toward completing his transformation.
With the continuous support and encouragement of Goldie’s Place staff and volunteers, Otis found employment, housing and a new set of teeth. For the first time in many years, his spirit, and smile, have been renewed.
