Henry Schein Cares Foundation continued its long support of the Goldie’s Place Dental Clinic with the recent addition of 4 brand-new, dental operatory chairs and an autoclave for sterilizing equipment.

“People recognize the important work that Goldie’s Place is providing the community. Our recent donation to upgrade equipment shows our commitment to a program that has sustainable value to people,” said Steve Kess, President of Henry Schein Cares Foundation. “Clinicians and patients both come out better for being a part of it.” The Henry Schein Cares Foundation expands access to care for at-risk and underserved populations around the world.

We are also grateful for our long partnership with the UIC-College of Dentistry for helping us forge the relationship with Henry Schein. Dr. Caswell Evans, Associate Dean for Prevention and Public Health Sciences, approached Goldie’s Place to start the student-run dental clinic in partnership with UIC in 2007. He felt that our organization would be the perfect home for this ground-breaking program. The clinic doors opened in 2008.

Three of the initial dental chairs came on loan from UIC-COD (used equipment from storage) and the fourth one was purchased from a grant. Henry Schein Cares Foundation graciously stocked our new dental clinic with supplies and equipment when we opened our doors. After delivering over $2 million in free dental care to our homeless population, Henry Schein filled a huge need for new chairs with this significant in-kind donation. The Goldie’s Place Dental Clinic can now better serve our population for many more years to come. We are deeply grateful to the Henry Schein Cares Foundation for their commitment to community.
